Note: A jump ring with a diameter of around 6-8mm should work well for this project. However, the size of the jump ring may differ depending on the size of the swivel lobster clasp and the thickness of the ribbon used. It’s always a good idea to test out different sizes of jump rings before finalizing your project.
Notes: For a lanyard, gros grain ribbon with a width of 1 inch is commonly used. However, you can also experiment with different widths to achieve your desired look and functionality. Just make sure the ribbon is thick enough to hold up to daily wear and tear.
Embellishment Idea:
Here’s how you can add a planar resin with a hole drilled in it for embellishment on a lanyard:
1. Choose a planar resin with a drilled hole that matches the width of your ribbon (or drill a hole yourself using an electric drill and a small drill bit)  – Check out our AWESOME selection of Planar Resins HERE
2. Thread a jump ring through the hole in the resin and close it securely.
3. Use pliers to open another jump ring and thread it through the first jump ring and through the loop at the end of your lanyard.
4. Close the jump ring securely using pliers.
5. Your lanyard is now complete with a beautiful planar resin embellishment!
